Today is very exciting as Jay and I will be exhibiting at a brand new show in New York where the proceeds got to a really great cause.  We really pulled it together and have made some really great new work.  Four new sculptures to be exact plus an amazing huge, simply gigantic new bowl.  Which I will post pictures of later.  The show starts today at 3 and my booth number is D10.  Come support a great cause.  And as usual buying from a local artist or crafts person really makes a huge impact on their daily lives.  Having handmade objects in your life is amazing.  Buy Art!

i met judy over the phone a few years ago.  we finally got to meet in person last week at the baltimore american craft council show.  her work is tremendous.  and quite opposite of our work.  judy is very detail oriented, her pieces are so tactile and feel as smooth as soapstone.  her colors are in a perfect mid tone range and are complimented by very crude copper wire which is sewn through her vessels and adds the right amount of  imperfection.  judy’s work is inspired by the late great fred ball.  check her work out on her site here.  there  is also a great video on her site as well making one of her pieces.  www.jstoneenamels.com

one great thing about baltimore is that there’s a bounty of old bay spice in every restaurant, what doesn’t old bay taste good on?  downside to baltimore is that it seems like everyone smokes.  baltimore could really stand to have a major anti smoking campaign.

the american craft council is actively looking for new designer/maker people.  i highly recommend this show and urge people to apply if they have not done so.  the crowd is highly educated in art, craft and design.  people in my opinion were buying in full force and really seemed to be looking forward to this show.   here’s a link to the craft councils website:  american craft council

my husband and partner jay and our best friend sean biloski decided our neighborhood was seriously lacking in the healthy food and coffee department.  so they took it amongst themselves to open this super cute little spot cheekily named yummus hummus.  because obviously their super creamy hummus takes center stage.  the menu is small but very solid.  the coffee is an amazing brew of organic french sumatra.  the girls that work there turn out super tasty homemade cookies, scones and other amazing treats every morning.  the customers are so friendly and appreciative of our little contribution to the neighborhood.  if you find yourself in the east williamsburg/bushwick part of brooklyn stop in and say hi!

Magasin Totale is our showroom and Michelle is our sales rep.  She has her new site up.  She’s the lady to go to if you have a wholesale inquiry or need to borrow something lovely for a photo shoot.  Plus she reps a whole slew of awesome talent.  Check out Heather Palmers Nests and Joe Cariati’s amazing mouth blown glass pieces.  I covet both intensely.

our website felt like it was a million years old!  finally we are under construction!  in the meantime i will be posting new product on etsy.  as always i preach buying locally as well as handmade.  it makes a real difference into that persons actual life and creates good feelings all around.
